Types of tiles
No matter where you want to tile, be it a splash back, behind a basin or a complete bathroom the choice of tiles, colours and sizes, is vast.
Not all tiles absorb the same amount of water so it is important to ascertain which tile is best for which area.
Tiles that are water resistant are glazed and those that are not are regarded as unglazed.
Impervious tiles should be used around baths and in showers and will not absorb moisture.
Semi impervious is low absorption and can be used near sinks, as splash backs and in most showers.
The most highly absorbent are non-vitreous and are not suitable for wet areas, sinks or countertops.
